At university in Hull from 1993-1997, with a year out as a teaching assistant in Germany in 1995-1996.

Following this I had a brief (3-week!) spell at a cooked meat factory, which was pretty horrible, before starting my first proper job at DBS Financial Management. My future husband also started here at the same time, although we were friends for some time before finally getting together...

Dave and I moved to London in June 1999 with the intention of staying for 3 or 4 years (still here 8 years later!) then moving back up north. A job change took me to Barclays in February 2000 - intially working on the pensions mis-selling review, then moving into more general customer services work. Still there now, although started on maternity leave at the end of June...

We finally got married in September 2006, and had an absolutely wonderful, unforgettable day and honeymoon.

Our first baby, Daniel Michael, was born at 16:19 on 18th August 2007, weighing a healthy 8lb 3oz. He is a beautiful little boy!
